Four Adults and Two Children Involved in Collision at 1900 Cypress Avenue

 
CYPRESS PARK, CA (April 16, 2018) – A car struck two other vehicles in a multiple-vehicle crash on Cypress Avenue, early Monday morning, leaving four adults and two children injured.
 
Authorities were alerted about the crash just after midnight and responded to the scene at the 1900 block of Cypress Avenue near Macon Street. The incident began when a driver that was double parked becuase of car troubles, asked for help from a family that was loading their kids into an SUV.
 
A pickup truck, that was believed to be speeding, lost control and crashed into both parked vehicles. A man loading the two children into the vehicle was struck and has his leg pinned, while another man who was a pedestrian was thrown against the wall of a nearby liquor store. A wheel from the truck came loose and hit a woman that was standing in front of the car.
 
All of the adult victims sustained major injuries. Paramedics transported the driver of the first vehicle, the pedestrian and the man with the injured leg to County USC Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation. The children were taken also as a precaution, while the woman struck by the tire was taken to the hospital by relatives.
 
The female driver of the truck is suspected of driving under the influence and is expected to face charges. Authorities continue to investigate the accident, and believe that speed was also a major factor.
