Investigation Underway After Fatal Bike Accident in Lakewood
Lakewood, CA (September 28, 2024) On Friday morning, a woman riding her bike was killed in the horrific Del Amo Boulevard traffic crash.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LACSD), the fatal collision happened at about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection with Norwalk Boulevard.
Reports say that a woman riding a bicycle was tragically killed after being struck by a car that had just collided with a school bus in the Lakewood area.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and her identity has not yet been released.
Authorities reported that the school bus, which had no students onboard, was traveling west on Del Amo Boulevard and turning left onto Norwalk Boulevard when a Honda allegedly ran a red light and collided with the bus.
The impact caused the Honda to strike the woman on the bicycle, resulting in her fatal injuries.
The bus driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of anxiety. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation, and no arrests have been reported.
