San Diego Collision Involving Construction Truck Injures 51-Year-Old Bicyclist

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 26, 2019) — A 51-year-old bicyclist suffered serious injuries after a collision involving a construction truck on Thursday.
 
The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. according to the California Highway Patrol and fire officials. The man riding a bicycle and a cement-mixer truck were both westbound on Sweetwater Road. The truck then made a right turn at Briarwood Road and struck the cyclist.
 
The man sustained major injuries. However, they were non-life-threatening as per officials. First responders took him to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
 
Meantime, the authorities closed the intersection of Sweetwater Road and Briarwood Road for about 30 minutes following the crash.
