Curtis L. Jones Dies in Shelton Car Accident on Highway 3

 
SHELTON, WA (January 17, 2021) – Friday afternoon, Curtis Jones, 83, died and others suffered injuries in a head-on crash on State Route 3.
 
The two-vehicle accident happened around 1:40 p.m. near milepost 4 on State Route 3 in Washington.
 
According to reports, a 62-year-old Port Orchard man headed south on State Route 3. Meanwhile, a 76-year-old Port Orchard man traveling north. However, the 62-year-old driver suffered a medical issue, drove across the center line, and collided head-on with the other vehicle.
 
As a result, the driver and 83-year-old male passenger from Allyn in the northbound car were transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for treatment.
 
The Allyn resident, Mr. Jones, succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
 
Furthermore, the northbound vehicle’s driver was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
 
Also, the incident closed the roadway for more than an hour and a half.
 
The authorities added that both cars were totaled.
