Curt Mayer Seriously Injured in Canyon Lake Motorcycle Accident
CANYON LAKE, CA (July 17, 2019) – Officials have identified the motorcyclist who was hit and injured by an alleged DUI driver in Canyon Lake Friday morning.
An investigation showed that Curt Mayer of Canyon Lake was headed to work when he was struck at about 5:15 a.m. on Scott Road. Paramedics took him to a local trauma center with serious injuries including a crushed leg.
Mayer had to undergo emergency surgery. Authorities said he was in stable condition but will require additional surgeries. Additionally, he will go through rehabilitation and physical therapy that will last at least a year.
In the meantime, Mayer’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help them pay the extensive costs of surgery and miscellaneous expenses.
The incident is under investigation.
