Two Injured in Collision on US Highway 195 and Ralph Henning Road
THORNTON, WA (April 13, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized after a collision involving a tractor-trailer and a sedan on Highway 195, late Friday morning.
The accident took place around 11:30 AM on US Highway 195, just 8 miles south of Rosalia. According to reports, 35-year-old Aaron Gomez of Medical Lake was driving southbound in a 2003 Acura behind a semi-trailer.
When the truck, driven by 30-year-old Zachary Suppe of Endicott, slowed down to make a right onto Ralph Henning Road, the Acura crashed into it. It then swerved off the road and onto the shoulder.
Gomez and his passenger, 29-year-old Crystal Tattsey of Spokane, were injured in the collision. Washington State Patrol troopers stated that he was taken to the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane by Life Flight, while Tattsey was transported by ambulance. Suppe was uninjured in the accident.
WSP officials believe that speed was a main contributor in the incident. Gomez was cited for negligent driving and unsafe passing.
