Phoenix, AZ  (May 2, 2023) –  Monday afternoon, 41-year-old Crystal Conover died, and one other person sustained injuries in a crash on 14th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

The fatal head-on crash on 14th Avenue in Phoenix happened around 1:45 p.m. on May 1.

Phoenix Police said Conover was driving into oncoming traffic eastbound in the westbound lanes when she hit a truck.

Conover was pronounced dead at the scene after her vehicle caught fire.

EMS transported the other driver to a hospital in serious condition.

Detectives believe Conover was in a family argument and one other crash just before this deadly wreck.

Moreover, they are looking into the possibility of impairment.
