Anaheim Man Cruz Carrasco Dies, Riverside Man Injured in Riverside Crash
Riverside, CA (July 12, 2021) – On Monday, 52-year-old Cruz Carrasco of Anaheim died in a head-on crash on Tyler Street.
The fatal two-vehicle crash happened minutes after 1 a.m. in the 4400 block area.
Riverside police Sgt. Ryan Taack said a 28-year-old Riverside man on a 2008 Lexus sedan was northbound on Tyler Street at an unknown speed. Suddenly, the man lost control of the vehicle.
During that time, Carrasco was southbound on Tyler Street driving a 2011 Nissan Sentra. He had no time to drift as the Lexus jumped the center median and struck his vehicle head-on.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics pronounced Carrasco dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the unidentified Lexus driver sustained major injuries. Rescuers took him to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.
