3 Injured in Sonora Car Accident on Mt. Elizabeth Road
SONORA, CA (July 1, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, Cristina Harris and her passengers sustained injuries, while Harris was arrested for the DUI crash on Mt. Elizabeth Road.
CHP Sonora Unit spokesperson Officer Joshua McKernan revealed that at about 4:30 p.m., 25-year-old Cristina Harris of Sonora drove a 1994 Toyota Tacoma.
Then, she traveled on Mt. Elizabeth Road, east of Martingale Lane in the Cedar Ridge area. However, she made an unsafe maneuver. As a result, the truck crashed into a power pole.
“Both of her adult male passengers declined medical treatment despite suffering minor to moderate injuries,” McKernan said.
Responders took Cristina Harris to Adventist Health Sonora for the treatment of moderate injuries. Then, the police booked her into Tuolumne County Jail on two felony counts of DUI resulting in bodily injuries. Furthermore, her bail was set at a $25,000 bond.
Habits like distracted driving, speeding, and DUI can lead to road accidents. If you find yourself unable to safely operate a vehicle, you always have other options. For example, you can call a taxi service, Lyft, or Uber. Doing so helps to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
Injury Crashes in California
Each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to an auto crash. Unfortunately, not everyone is properly informed about the things you should do next after an injury crash.
The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery, while securing your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.
“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are driven by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers.
