1 Dead in Palm Desert Auto Accident on Highway 371

 
PALM DESERT, CA (August 18, 2020) – On Saturday afternoon, 27-year-old Cristian Barraza died in a crash on Highway 371.
 
The incident occurred at 2:5 p.m. on Highway 371, south of Barbara Trail in Aguanga.
 
According to reports, Cristian Gomez Barraza of Palm Desert traveled west in a 2107 Subaru Crosstek. The authorities noted that has he drove at an unsafe speed, he lost control around a curve. Then, his car spun into an oncoming vehicle and crashed with a 24-year-old San Jacinto man driving an eastbound 2015 Kia Optima.
 
Due to the crash, the Subaru overturned around 40 feet down an embankment. As it landed on its wheels, Cristian Barraza succumbed to his injuries.
 
The authorities revealed that the driver wore his seat belt during the crash.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the Kia driver and his 19-year-old female passenger to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
 
At this time, the authorities didn’t administer any arrest.
