Oxnard, CA (December 25, 2024) On Sunday, 58-year-old Cristero Peter Luna of Oxnard sustained serious injuries after a pedestrian crash on Gonzales Road.

According to the Oxnard Police Department (OPD), the horrific crash happened at about 5:28 p.m. on Gonzales Road, west of Williams Drive.

Reports say that a Toyota Camry struck 58-year-old Luna, leaving him in critical condition.

Officers arrived at the scene and found Luna lying in the roadway. Emergency personnel transported him to Ventura County Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition as of Monday.

The Camry’s driver, a 25-year-old Oxnard resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Preliminary findings indicate the car was heading westbound on Gonzales Road when it hit Luna, who was crossing the roadway between Williams Drive and North Rose Avenue in an unknown direction.

Police are investigating the disastrous pedestrian crash on Gonzales Road and have not released further information at this time.
