Injuries Reported in Cajon Pass Rear-End Accident on Interstate 15 and Oak Hill Road

CAJON PASS, CA (February 11, 2024) – Saturday morning, a crippling traffic crash on Interstate 15 and Oak Hill Road injured 2 people.

The incident happened at 9:15 a.m. when a white Mercedes sedan hit the back of a Ford pickup truck on southbound Interstate 15, just south of Oak Hill Road.

Then, the Mercedes sedan drove into the center divider, and over the side, leading to a visible smoke.

Emergency responders with San Bernardino County Fire came to the scene and found the vehicle was down a ravine with two people still inside.

Firefighters went down to the vehicle and helped the occupants back up to the freeway.

Moreover, both of the occupants were taken by ground ambulances with non-life-threatening injuries.

Also, the incident caused bumper-to-bumper traffic on southbound traffic on Interstate 15 for several miles through Hesperia.

Southbound traffic on the I-15 was bumper-to-bumper for several miles through the City of Hesperia.

Drivers going the other way on the northbound I-15 freeway were advised to be ready for big delays near the Cajon Pass. Traffic was stuck between where the 15 and 215 freeways meet and Highway 138.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
