Injuries Reported in Rancho Cucamonga Auto Accident on 15 Freeway
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (January 31, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a crippling single-vehicle crash on 15 Freeway injured 2 people.
The incident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on the 15 Freeway, which trapped the driver and passenger in the car after crashing into a tree.
Meanwhile, emergency personnel received an alert of the crash through an Apple Watch.
“Through the Apple Watch or the iPhone crash detection system, we received a location and our officers and first responders showed up on the scene,” CHP Officer Rodrigo Jimenez said. “With those coordinates, we’re able to pretty much pinpoint where the vehicles are at,” Jimenez added. “This could definitely save some lives.”
After the crash, responders took both men to Arrowhead Regional Hospital in Colton. Moreover, the authorities haven’t clarified whether there were other people in the car.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
