Injuries Reported in Salinas Pedestrian Accident on Pine Street
SALINAS, CA (January 26, 2024) – Thursday morning, 2 Salinas High School students were injured in a crippling pedestrian crash on Pine Street.
The incident happened at about 8:20 a.m. when a car struck the two female students on Pine Street crosswalk.
Salinas Police added that the students were walking across South Main Street at the intersection of Pine Street. Then, they were struck the crosswalk during a “Don’t Walk” warning.
Reports said that the non-student driver was making a left turn at the Pine Street and South Main Street intersection when the crash occurred. The driver, with the right of way, cooperated with Salinas Police, stating they didn’t see the students.
The collision happened at 10-15 mph. Emergency services treated the girls on-site, and they were later taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, Salinas Police are yet to confirm if the driver will face charges.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
