Injuries Reported in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Otay Mesa Road and Heritage Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 11, 2023) – Tuesday, a crippling pedestrian crash on Otay Mesa Road and Heritage Road injured 1 person.
The incident happened as a woman walked south on the west side of 6500 Otay Mesa Road at 1600 Heritage Road just after midnight.
Officer Fisher of the San Diego Police Department revealed that a 61-year-old woman driving a 2016 Jeep Compass hit the 23-year-old pedestrian.
As a result, the pedestrian sustained serious injuries. She had a pelvic fracture, a laceration to the head, abrasions to the left elbow and abdominal area.
Meanwhile, Fisher confirmed that there were no street signs or a crosswalk on the west side of the intersection.
Moreover, the SUV driver suffered no injuries in the crash.
Also, the authorities do not believe that DUI played a role.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
