1 Person Hospitalized in Ventura County Traffic Accident on Highway 1 near Tonga Street
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (November 12, 2023) – Friday morning, a crippling multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 near Tonga Street injured one person.
The incident happened at around 7:32 a.m. on Highway 1 near Tonga Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2007 Hino box truck failed to stop and struck an unoccupied CHP cruiser with its lights on to block traffic to an earlier incident.
Moreover, responders airlifted a 44-year-old woman to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
Furthermore, authorities blocked all lanes to give way to responders. All lanes have long since reopened.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
