Injuries Reported in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on W Poplar Street and N Zarzamora Street
SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 28, 2024) – Tuesday, a crippling hit-and-run crash on W Poplar Street and N Zarzamora Street injured 1 person.
The incident happened as a car on the run from Bexar County constables hit a man. Reports said that the incident began as a traffic stop on the corner of West Poplar St. & North Zarzamora St.
As Bexar County Constables Office Precinct 2 conducted a traffic stop on a stolen car, the vehicle fled off. Meanwhile, the four people inside were determined as juveniles. Reports also confirmed that the car hit a man.
“He went flying and then the car sped through the street over there and then afterwards, they parked right over there as you can see, and they ran,” Witness Sandra Murray said.
Reports confirmed that two males and two females occupied the vehicle. The two males tried to run off but the constables office caught them.
Meanwhile, one of the deputies administered medical triage before EMS arrived. Then, responders took the pedestrian to University Hospital where he is said to be stable.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
