1 Person Arrested in Ventura Bicycle Accident on Telegraph Road near Joanne Avenue

VENTURA, CA (September 24, 2023) – Thursday morning, a crippling hit-and-run crash on Telegraph Road near Joanne Avenue injured one person.

The incident happened at around 9:50 a.m. on Telegraph Road, east of Joanne Avenue.

According to the Ventura Police Department, a westbound Ventura County Transportation Commission’s (VCTC) fleet-based blue bus struck the handlebars of a westbound bicycle.

Then, the force of the crash knocked the bicyclist into the roadway, and was struck by the rear wheels of the bus. Also, a motorist behind the bus witnessed the incident, pulled over, and rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist.

Moreover, responders rushed the 64-year-old cyclist to a hospital with major injuries to his lower body.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate, arrest, and booked the bus driver, into Ventura County Jail for felony hit-and-run.
