Injuries Reported in Garden Grove Bicycle Accident on Easter Street and Twintree Lane
GARDEN GROVE, CA (July 8, 2024) – Sunday evening, 5 people suffered injuries in a crippling hit-and-run crash on Haster Street and Twintree Lane.
First responders from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived on the scene around 7:30 p.m. to find two adults on bicycles, towing three children in carriers, had been struck by a fleeing motorist.
The victims were quickly treated and transported to nearby trauma centers. Among them, one adult and two children are listed in critical condition, according to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the Garden Grove Police Department. The collision’s aftermath left the street littered with the wreckage of the bicycles.
Authorities captured the driver shortly after the incident. The investigation is ongoing to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Haster Street remains closed between Lampson and Chapman Avenues as police continue their investigation. The community is urged to avoid the area and provide any information that may assist in the investigation by contacting the Garden Grove Police Department.
