Kellogg Auto Accident South of Wallace on Moon Pass
KELLOGG, WA (April 3, 2024) – Sunday, a crippling head-on crash South of Wallace on Moon Pass led to the arrest of one driver.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) received a call reporting a car swerving erratically on the road. Responding deputies stationed themselves in the center median near Kellogg, where they observed a red Durango traveling westbound. Suddenly, the vehicle lost control while attempting to pass a semi-truck on the shoulder. It veered into the eastbound lanes, driving against traffic, and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Following the crash, deputies tried to apprehend the driver due to concerning statements made. However, the suspect resisted arrest, prompting intervention from two bystanders who came to the aid of the deputy.
Subsequently, the driver of the red Durango was taken into custody and booked into the Shoshone County Jail. Charges against the individual include DUI, reckless driving, resisting and obstructing law enforcement, and driving with a suspended license.
Fortunately, both drivers involved in the collision sustained minor injuries.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
