MERCED COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2024) – Saturday morning, a crippling head-on crash on Turner Island Road near Palazzo Road injured 2 people.

The incident occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on Turner Island Road near Palazzo Road.

According to reports, a 26-year-old woman drove north on Turner Island. Then, she veered off the right side of the road.

After the woman corrected, she went into the southbound lane and struck a silver Toyota head-on.

As a result, the 39-year-old man from the Toyota was airlifted to a nearby hospital with major injuries.

Responders also transported the woman to the hospital with major injuries.

Meanwhile, the authorities don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
