Injuries Reported in Fresno Auto Accident on Highway 180 near Chestnut Avenue

FRESNO, CA (May 16, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, a crippling head-on crash on Highway 180 near Chestnut Avenue injured 1 person.

The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. when a wrong-way driver traveled west in the eastbound lane of Highway 180 near Chestnut Avenue.

Reports said that two cars crashed head-on. Moreover, officers said that the victim in the other vehicle was a woman in her 50s who was driving a Honda Accord.

Responders took her to the hospital. Her condition remained unknown at this time. Furthermore, the alleged wrong-way driver is a woman in her 30s who was driving a Chevy Malibu. 

She was transported to the hospital and is facing felony DUI charges.
