2 People Hospitalized in Wingate Auto Accident on Highway 153 and Highway 277

WINGATE, TX (December 14, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a crippling head-on crash on Highway 153 and Highway 277 injured two people.

The incident happened at around 12:42 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 153 and Highway 277.

According to reports, a semi-truck jackknifed into oncoming traffic due to a slick road caused by moisture. Then, the semi collided with an unidentified sedan.

As a result, the Wingate Fire Rescue transported two people to a hospital, including a patient with critical injuries.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Winters Volunteer Fire Department, and the Moro Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
