Injuries Reported in Orick Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Prairie Creek Fish Hatchery

ORICK, CA (November 28, 2023) – Monday morning, a crippling head-on crash on Highway 101 near Prairie Creek Fish Hatchery injured five people.

The incident happened at around 8:20 a.m. on Highway 101, north of the Prairie Creek Fish Hatchery.

According to reports, a small sedan and a semi collided in the area for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the sedan to roll over onto its roof.

Moreover, officers confirmed that people were involved in the incident, including one patient with head injuries.

Furthermore, authorities reported that a female pedestrian who was acting erratically, playing with cones, and jumping in traffic, caused the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
