Injuries Reported in Petaluma Auto Accident on Lakeville Highway

PETALUMA, CA (July 11, 2023) – Monday morning, a Sonoma Sheriff’s deputy sustained injuries in a crippling DUI crash on Lakeville Highway.

The incident occurred just after 2:00 a.m. as the deputy tried to pull over another car. However, their patrol car was struck from behind.

After the crash, multiple other deputies, California Highway Patrol, Petaluma PD, and Sonoma County Fire District personnel came to the scene.

Meanwhile, responders transported the deputy to the hospital and later released.

The drivers of the other involved vehicles suffered injuries in the crash.

According to the CHP, the driver who rear-ended the deputy was driving under the influence which led to his arrest.
