SEATTLE, WA (March 29, 2023) – Tuesday morning, officers sustained injuries following a crippling crash on South Michigan Street near Corson Avenue South.
The incident happened at around 5:45 a.m. on South Michigan Street near Corson Avenue South.
According to Seattle Police Department spokesperson Det. Judinna Gulpan, the incident started when authorities pulled over a suspicious silver Honda Accord.
Then, the vehicle driver fought with officers, got back to the vehicle, and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Moments later, officers managed to stop the vehicle after it rammed into another vehicle. Also, authorities confirmed that four officers were dragged by the vehicle when it fled from the traffic stop.
Moreover, paramedics transported the officers to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, officials arrested the 34-year-old male suspect for assault, and DUI and trying to elude police.
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
