Bicyclist Hospitalized after Crash on Rice Ranch Open Space Near Orcutt Hills

 
Orcutt, CA (March 26, 2021) – A serious crash occurred on Rice Ranch Open Space left a bicyclist injured on Thursday night.
 
The incident took place on March 25 south of the Rice Ranch Open Space near Orcutt Hills at about 7:06 p.m.
 
Santa Barbara County fire crews with two engines and a battalion chief responded to the scene. Due to the isolated location of the collision, officials also requested County Air Support helicopter 3.
 
According to the firefighters, the bicyclist had fallen and sustained serious injury possibly to the head. However, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.
 
Furthermore, responding officials laid the victim down onto a rescue basket. Then, they took the bicyclist to Copter 3 before transporting to the nearest trauma center.
 
As of writing, there has been no update regarding the condition of the bicyclist.
