Andrew Guerra Arrested after Crash on West 7th Entertainment District in Forth Worth

Fort Worth, TX (January 29, 2024) – Fort Worth police report that a suspected drunk driver, Andrew Guerra, 29, led them on a dangerous chase through the West 7th Entertainment District on Saturday night, causing serious injuries to multiple people. 

Guerra is now detained in Tarrant County Jail with a $95,000 bond, facing charges of evading arrest with a vehicle causing serious injury, intoxication assault with a vehicle, and unlawful restraint.

Dashcam footage released by the police captures the events leading up to, during, and after the chase, including the eventual crash. Guerra, driving a truck, is seen pulling out of a parking lot without headlights and trying to enter a one-way street in the wrong direction. After nearly colliding with a police car and driving onto the curb, Guerra ignored pleas from his passenger to stop and sped away when police tried to pull him over.

The chase continued, with Guerra making a U-turn through a parking lot and then heading back in the opposite direction on West 7th. The pursuit ended over a mile later with a crash at the University intersection, where Guerra’s truck hit a pole, a stopped car, two pedestrians, and another traffic light.

Two pedestrians were seriously injured and taken to hospitals, while Guerra was also hospitalized before being transferred to jail. The passenger in Guerra’s truck, a victim of the unlawful restraint charge, has been cooperating with the investigation.
