Pedestrian Dies After Multi-Vehicle Crash on San Gabriel River Freeway in Norwalk

Norwalk, CA (July 31, 2024) – On Wednesday, a pedestrian died in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Gabriel River Freeway.

California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:46 a.m. to the southbound freeway near the Rosecrans Avenue exit, where they discovered the damaged Tahoe and the pedestrian on the Rosecrans on-ramp, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service. 

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced the pedestrian, whose name, gender, and age were not immediately known, dead at the scene. 

The CHP closed the Rosecrans exit, diverting traffic to the Imperial Highway exit.
