Woman Dead After Crash on Stevens Creek Boulevard in San Jose
San Jose, CA (September 19, 2024) – On Thursday night, a woman died in an auto-pedestrian crash on Stevens Creek Boulevard.
The collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Hanson Avenue, as reported by the San Jose Police Department on social media.
The pedestrian, identified only as a woman, was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will confirm her identity and notify her next of kin.
Police stated that the female driver was traveling eastbound on Stevens Creek Boulevard in a 2018 Honda Civic sedan when she hit the pedestrian.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities noted that the pedestrian was outside a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Although state law no longer enforces jaywalking, it permits crossing at any point on a roadway as long as it is done safely.
Sweet Lawyers extend our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of the deceased. May the bereaved find solace and strength in this extremely trying time.
