3 People Hospitalized After Crash on State Route 60 and Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley

Moreno Valley, CA (March 22, 2024) – On Monday, three people sustained injuries in a crash on State Route 60 and Perris Boulevard.

The accident occurred around 8:12 a.m. at the intersection of WB SR 60 and Perris Blvd.

Responding to the incident were units from the Riverside County Sheriffs, Cal Fire Riverside County, Moreno Valley units, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Riverside division. 

Upon arrival, they encountered a scene of moderate to major vehicle damage.

Initial reports suggested the Snap On truck had veered off the freeway, but CHP, Riverside clarified that the truck was in the process of exiting the freeway via the off-ramp when it collided with a white work van for reasons still under investigation. 

The impact caused the work van to strike a third vehicle before coming to a halt approximately 50 yards away from the Snap On truck, landing in the drive-through lane of a Jack In The Box restaurant.

The collision resulted in the damage of several street lights and a traffic signal light, exacerbating the disruption. Three individuals were transported to the hospital, with two of them suffering from major injuries. 

The cause of the collision remains unclear, and the intersection was closed for several hours to facilitate a thorough investigation by the police.

Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes as emergency crews worked to clear the debris and investigate the cause of this distressing incident.
