Mother and Daughter Hospitalized After Crash on State Highway 359 in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, TX (June 6, 2024) – On Friday, doctors listed a mother and daughter in stable condition after they were involved in a serious crash on State Highway 359 near Skidmore.

They, along with their father, son, and another driver, went to area hospitals on Thursday after a collision on a local highway. The latter three were discharged from CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Beeville on Thursday night.

The accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. when a man, woman, and their son and daughter were driving toward Skidmore in their eastbound Ford F-150 on State Hwy. 359 at 181. 

The truck’s GPS advised them to turn, as reported by Texas Department of Public Safety Public Information Sgt. Harold “Rob” Mallory. 

As they made the turn, a westbound Ram truck turning off 181 onto 359 hit them.

Mallory stated that the man driving the F-150 did not allow enough time to make the turn safely. 

The woman in the passenger seat was pinned and had to be extricated and airlifted to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline. Her daughter was also transported to Corpus Christi. 

The father, son, and the driver of the Ram were taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Beeville and discharged Thursday night.

All drivers were alert and talking when taken for treatment, Mallory said. The accident shut down Hwy. 181 for at least an hour.
