Pedestrian Seriously Injured after Crash on South Broadway in Tyler

Tyler, TX (January 3, 2024) – On Wednesday evening, one person sustained serious injuries in a crash on South Broadway.

 The Tyler Police Department responded to South Broadway and Loop 323 at 6:44 p.m. following a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. 

According to the Tyler Police Department, the pedestrian, walking south across Loop 323 from First Christian Church to the French Quarter Shopping Center parking lot, sustained a hit from a vehicle traveling east on the Loop.

The vehicle stopped after the collision, and the pedestrian, who was not using a crosswalk then, remained alert and awake. 

Emergency Medical Services transported the pedestrian to UT Main on Beckham in serious condition. 

Further investigation is ongoing.
