Driver Cited After Crash on Shields and Cedar Avenues in Fresno

Fresno, CA (February 16, 2024) – On Friday evening, a woman sustained injuries after a fiery bus crash on Shields and Cedar Avenues.

Officers received a report of the collision around 6:30 p.m. near Shields and Cedar Avenues in Fresno and found both the vehicle and the bus ablaze upon arriving at the scene. 

Firefighters quickly responded to extinguish the flames.

A female passenger, among five others including the bus driver on the bus, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the SUV, found to have a suspended license, received a citation from the police.

As of Friday night, the involvement of alcohol and/or drugs in the incident remains uncertain. 

The police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
