70-Year-Old Woman Dead after Crash on Princeton Avenue in Stockton
Stockton, CA (December 6, 2023) – On Sunday night, a 70-year-old woman died in a crash on Princeton Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, a 34-year-old man, driving a 2006 Infiniti under the influence of drugs or alcohol, ran through the stop sign at Princeton Avenue and Delaware Avenue.
He collided with the 70-year-old’s 1990 GMC.
The driver of the Infiniti allegedly attempted to flee the scene, but employees leaving work at Michael’s Pizza, a block away, intervened and held him until the police arrived.
The unnamed driver was subsequently arrested and booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
San Joaquin County officials plan to recognize the restaurant employees who detained the suspect at the next board meeting Tuesday.
