Woman Dead, Husband Critical After Crash on Pioneer Parkway in Prescott

Prescott, AZ (June 7, 2024) – On Wednesday, a woman died, and his husband sustained critical injuries in a crash on Pioneer Parkway.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, a car heading north on Pioneer Parkway, after getting the green light at Williamson Valley Road, was struck by another driver trying to pass using the right lane, which was ending. 

The impact caused the second car to spin into oncoming traffic. A cement truck driver tried to avoid the second car but couldn’t and collided with it.

The driver was flown to a Phoenix hospital in critical condition, while his wife, who was in the front passenger seat, died on the way to the hospital. 

She has not been identified. No one else was seriously hurt. Deputies confirmed that impairment wasn’t a factor. 

An investigation is underway.
