Moreno Valley, CA (January 17, 2024) – On Tuesday morning, 64-year-old David Ristow died in a crash on Perris Boulevard.

The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. Tuesday on Perris Boulevard, south of Bay Avenue, as confirmed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. 

Sgt. Marcos Acosta explained that Ristow, an itinerant, was crossing Perris Boulevard when a southbound Isuzu Trooper, traveling at an undetermined speed, approached. 

The SUV’s driver, apparently unable to stop in time, hit Ristow. The location lacks a marked pedestrian crossing.

Following the accident, the driver, who remained uninjured, stopped immediately and awaited the arrival of first responders.

 Paramedics declared Ristow dead at the scene within 10 minutes. Deputies interrogated the motorist but did not place him under arrest.

 Acosta noted no signs suggesting the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident. 

The investigation continues, and authorities have requested anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s Moreno Valley station at 951-486-6700.
