2 People Hospitalized After Crash on North Avenue in Fresno County

Fresno County, CA (May 16, 2024) – A fatal crash on North Avenue killed two people and hospitalized two others.

Officers responded to the area of North and Dewolf Avenues for the crash at about 2:10 p.m. 

Upon investigation, CHP determined that a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound approaching the intersection without control, while a red Mitsubishi was traveling on Dewolf Avenue, also approaching the intersection.

Officers stated it is unknown if the Mitsubishi’s driver stopped at or proceeded through the stop sign. 

The Mitsubishi entered the path of the Silverado, and the vehicles collided. 

CHP reported that two people died at the scene due to the collision, and two others were taken to the hospital. 

Investigators noted that speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and there is no information yet on whether alcohol or drugs played a role. 

The investigation is ongoing.
