Police Investigate Crash on N Sims Avenue in Bryan

Bryan, TX (January 3, 2024) – On Wednesday evening, a firefighter sustained injuries in a crash on N Sims Avenue.

Investigators are currently probing a vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening involving an SUV and a Bryan Fire Department vehicle.

 The City of Bryan Fire Department confirms that the unit was responding to an emergency call at the time of the collision, which took place around 6:30 p.m. on N Sims Avenue near MLK. 

Scanner radio traffic indicates that “Battalion 1” was the unit involved in the crash, during which one firefighter sustained injuries. 

A spokesperson for Bryan Fire stated that a hospital checked and later released the injured firefighter. 

The SUV driver’s condition remains undisclosed at this time. Investigators are actively determining the cause of the crash.
