Fresno, CA (May 24, 2024) – On Friday, one person died, and two others sustained injuries in a crash on McKinley Avenue.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported that a crash following a brief pursuit on Friday afternoon in Fresno County resulted in one man’s death and two others being hospitalized.

Deputies tried to stop a motorcycle near McKinley and Feland Avenues in Fresno County, but the motorcycle sped away.

A short pursuit followed. Just before 4:30 p.m., the motorcycle collided with a sedan at the intersection of Shields and Valentine Avenues after running a stop sign, according to sheriff’s officials.

The crash caused injuries to a man and a woman on the motorcycle, and they were taken to a local hospital.

The sheriff’s office stated on Friday night that the man succumbed to his injuries, while the woman remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Deputies said the sedan’s driver was also taken to the hospital as a precaution but did not suffer severe injuries.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the man had an active arrest warrant for traffic-related offenses.
