Trooper Injured After Crash on Interstate 40 in Flagstaff

Flagstaff, AZ (July 12, 2024) – On Thursday night, a trooper sustained injuries in a crash on Interstate 40.

Reportedly, a driver crashed into two emergency vehicles on a busy northern Arizona freeway Thursday night, injuring a trooper who was trying to avoid being hit. 

According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers were investigating a collision on Interstate 40 near Lone Tree Road around 9 p.m. when the incident occurred. 

The passing driver collided with a fire department vehicle and a DPS vehicle, both unoccupied at the time. 

Authorities are investigating whether the driver was impaired during the collision. 

The freeway was closed for several hours overnight but reopened just before 2:30 a.m.
