San Marcos, TX  (December 3, 2023) – On Saturday night, a woman died in a crash on Interstate 35.

The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near the Aquarena Springs exit.

Emergency crews discovered a woman who had been run over by the 18-wheeler, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Investigators believe the woman had stowed away on the exterior of the truck as it journeyed from the Rio Grande Valley into central Texas.

The freeway remained closed for approximately three hours while police conducted their investigation.
