2 People Hospitalized After Crash on Interstate 35 Flyover in Austin

Austin, TX (December 15, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a crash on Interstate 35 flyover in south Austin resulted in two individuals being transported to the hospital. 

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene in the southbound lane heading westbound toward Ben White Boulevard just after 3:30 a.m. 

Crews from the Austin Fire Department were dispatched and engaged in the extraction of an entrapped patient. 

Medics conveyed both adults to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, with one sustaining serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and the other experiencing non-life-threatening injuries. 

Although the ramp was temporarily closed as crews worked, it has since been reopened.
