Injuries Reported in Escondido Auto Accident on Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road
ESCONDIDO, CA (April 24, 2023) – Sunday morning, a police officer suffered injuries in a startling crash on Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road.
Initially, a hit-and-run occurred at 10:27 a.m. on Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road.
Meanwhile, an officer was off-duty on his way to work when the California Highway Patrol notified him of the incident. Due to the slowed traffic on the freeway, the officer exited his vehicle to help direct traffic.
Meanwhile, the officer’s wife and children remained inside the vehicle.
Then, a red Ford Focus tried to get around the slow traffic by driving on the shoulder. Then, the vehicle struck the officer and knocked him onto the hood.
As a result, the officer sustained minor injuries. He called EPD dispatch and provided them with the license number of the vehicle that struck him.
When the police officers arrived at the scene, they detained the driver of the Focus.
The incident led to no other injuries.
