Police Investigate Crash on I and 5th Street in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA (May 19, 2023) – On Friday, multiple people are hurt after a crash on I and 5th Street involving a prisoner transport bus.

The crash on I and 5th Street happened on May 19.

Sacramento Fire Department said the collision involved a prisoner transport bus and another car. 

There were 23 people on the bus and 19 people were injured. It’s not clear if the driver of the car was one of the people injured.

Officers said another vehicle ran a red light heading westbound on I Street and collided with the bus, which was heading northbound on 5th Street. 

There is a black car on the scene with major damage in the front of the car.
