1 Person Hospitalized After Crash on Hunte Parkway in Chula Vista

Chula Vista, CA (May 29, 2024) – A car crash on Hunte Parkway seriously injured a 16-year-old passenger on Wednesday. 

The collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hunte Parkway and Exploration Falls Drive, according to a news release from the Chula Vista Police Department.

A juvenile driver and a 16-year-old boy were in a Ford pickup truck traveling westbound in the 1800 block of Hunte Parkway when the vehicle went off the roadway, collided with a tree, and struck a fire hydrant, authorities said.

When first responders arrived, the driver had already pulled the injured passenger out of the pickup truck. 

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities do not believe driving under the influence was a factor in the crash. 

The driver cooperated with the investigation.
