Yuba City, CA (February 2, 2024) – On Friday, two women died in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver collided with a tree south of Live Oak Boulevard. 

CHP reported that a 20-year-old woman, driving the car, made a sharp turn and drove into a dirt embankment before striking a tree. 

Both the driver and a 19-year-old passenger, both hailing from Gridley, perished in the crash. 

While their identities remain undisclosed, investigators are considering alcohol as a possible factor in the crash, though this has not been confirmed yet.
