Chico, CA (April 5, 2024) – On Thursday, one person sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 99 and 1st Avenue.

Chico Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash. A car hit a light pole around 8:30 p.m., making the pole lean.

Police transported the driver to Enloe Hospital, while the passenger was unharmed.

Caltrans is en route to examine the light pole, according to police.

They will also decide whether to close the off-ramp or keep it fully open, police stated.

The car crash into a light pole has partially closed the southbound off-ramp at Highway 99 and 1st Avenue.
