Driver Hospitalized After Crash on Highway 84 in McGregor

McGregor, TX (May 16, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, one person sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 84.

The first crash happened around 5 a.m. when a car stopped on the highway was hit from behind, causing it to roll over and trap the driver. 

First responders rescued the driver and sent them to the hospital with minor injuries. 

Crews cleared the scene around 6:30 a.m.

KWTX reporters witnessed a second crash within a mile of the first one, which led to the closure of additional lanes. 

News 10’s Nate Smith reported hearing a loud bang and seeing a white Jeep pickup pull off the road into a ditch with front-end damage. 

Crews on the scene initially could not provide information on the second crash.
