5 People Injured After Crash on Highway 63 in Callaway County

Callaway County, MO (August 30, 2024) – On Friday morning, five people sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 63.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report, the incident occurred at 10:35 a.m. on Highway 63, near Wrens Farm Road. 

Heidi Powers, 55, from Steedman, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound when her view was obstructed by a dump truck making a right-hand turn. 

As a result, her vehicle entered the path of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Terrance McCarey, 37, of Jefferson City. 

Both vehicles ended up in the median. Powers and her passengers, Amber Allen, 39, of Jefferson City, and Ruth Blakely, 82, of Steedman, sustained moderate injuries. 

McCarey and a one-year-old boy in his vehicle suffered minor injuries.
